The RoleWe are looking for an individual to join our team on a major UK construction project as a site-based assistant Quantity Surveyor starting at the Havant Thicket Reservoir Project, Hampshire.
You will provide assistance to the project Quantity Surveyor and Commercial Manager with the day-to-day commercial functions of the project. You will be given plenty of exposure to a variety of matters in a supportive working environment. This role is suitable for a recently graduated individual or one looking to pursue a career in quantity surveying.

Key responsibilities include: - Assist with the preparation of monthly applications by providing cost / value information.
- Assist with the preparation of subcontract documentation so that it is completed for authorisation by the Commercial Manager.
- Assisting in preparation of pricing Compensation Events and presenting to the Commercial Manager.
- Assist the site team and Commercial manager with preparation of accurate Cost forecasting.
- Prepare and manage subcontract accounts from inception to final accounts under the guidance of the Commercial Manager.
- Ensure compliance with issuing of timely Payment and Pay less notices to Subcontractors.
- General commercial support to the site team.
What we are looking for - BSc (Hons) in Quantity Surveying (or similar). However, A-Level / HND or equivalent plus cognate experience is also satisfactory and would be considered.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the NEC form of contracts.
- Awareness of construction methodology and the understanding of drawings
- Computer literacy with good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and other Microsoft Office programmes.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines is crucial.
- Full UK Driving Licence is also required.
More generally, you will need to be committed, reliable, flexible both in terms of UK travel (and staying away overnight where required) and range of tasks performed and possess a good team-working ethic.
